Don’t unplug it

Believe it or not, you’re better off leaving your neon sign plugged in at all times, unless you’re  cleaning it or fixing it. By turning the neon sign off and on often, you are likely to cause more wear and tear on your neon sign transformer than just leaving it on. 

Neon is a very efficient form of lighting. The average cost of operating a neon sign 24 hours a day is around 20 cents a day, or less than the cost of running a 75-watt light. And because the sign doesn’t get heated, leaving it on isn’t a fire hazard.
